Steve,

It worked, and you pointed out some additional handy commands and functions
I can use every day but didn't know about. Thank you so much.

Heidi,

I don't know if you can get JAWS to do this, but you can get Word to do it.
I've got JAWS 6.2 and Word 2000 and 2003, but I'm fairly sure the following
will work for your setup too.

From the top of the document, press Control + F to open the Find dialogue.
Tab to the More button and press it to add more controls to the dialogue.
Then Tab to the Format button menu and press it to open a menu. DownArrow to
Highlight and press it. You've now set Word to search for the next
highlighted text. Tab to and press the Find Next button to select the next
instance of highlighted text. Press Escape to close the Find dialogue and
you should find that JAWS reads the selected text. Press LeftArrow to
deselect the found text and leave the cursor on the first letter.

You can now use Control + PageDown and Control + PageUp to move between the
areas of highlighted text until you close Word or change the settings of the
Find dialogue.

Subject: How Do I Jump to & Read Highlighted Colored Text in Word?

Hello JFW List,

The author of a very long Word document highlighted her changes in yellow.

I know that insert-f will tell the font and character attributes, but I
don't want to read through the entire document line by line just to find the
highlighted parts.

Is there any way for JAWS to jump to and read the text she highlighted in
yellow?

Thank you.

Heidi
Using JAWS 6.1 and Word 2002
