Hotkey for checking Wireless status?

Hi everyone. I'm just wondering if there is a hotkey for checking my wireless
status on my laptop? I know about the battery hotkey, but I was wondering if
there was a way, aside from going into the system tray, that I could check my
signal and connection status. Thanks much in advance.
