Hi from James and Bette We live in La Verne, California. I teach basic computer skills for blind, developmentally disabled adults. At home Bette uses a Dell computer, XP Home Edition and Jaws 8.0. Lately we've run into a problem with our home computer. We had to take the computer into the shop to get a virus removed. Since then Jaws hasn't been running correctly. In Outlook Express Jaws won't read sentences, only letters and words if control and arrow key are used. In Word Jaws will not read sentences there as well. A message comes up about video intercept. I downloaded video intercept, 36 bit, but that has not resolved the problem. A tech at Freedom Scientific gave me a bunch of changes to make in the display settings but these have not resolved the problem. I uninstalled Internet Explorer 8 and then installed Explorer 7, as recommended, but I don't know how to make that my default setting. I was told by a Jaws distributor to uninstall Jaws and then reinstall it. I haven't tired that yet. Anyone have any ideas? I would appreciate any suggestions. http://nationalhazard.com/ -- JFW related links: JFW homepage: http://www.freedomscientific.com/ Scripting mailing list: http://lists.the-jdh.com/listinfo.cgi/scriptography-the-jdh.com JFW List instructions: To post a message to the list, send it to jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx To unsubscribe from this mailing list, send a message to jfw-request@xxxxxxxxxxxxx with the word unsubscribe in the subject line.
