Help is needed to burn some cds

Hello Everyone,
I am have major trouble recording a audio cd. I have selected 24 tracks and
there are in a folder on my hard drive.
I have three different music suites, (Windows Media Player 10, Roxio Easy
CD/DVD Creator, and CD Burner XP Pro.
No mater which one of these programs I us all of my cds skip about two third
of the way through.
I have a burner that maximum speed is 12x and I have tried everything from
12x to 1x in Windows Media Player. I would like to use Roxio Suite but the
Drag and Drop feature is too graphical so I cannot use it. CD Burner XP Pro
is decent, but again, the final cd skipped.
I am wondering if there are any settings that I should change or is there
something that I could download that is a plug in or add-on for one of the
three music programs I have.
I would greatly appreciate any and all suggestions to fix this annoying
problem of having my cds skip after they are burned.
