Help closing Internet Windows

Hi,  On occasion with JAWS 11 and Internet Explorer I cannot get the Window to 
close when I am done with the web site using the familiar  alt F4 keystroke.
In fact in these cases I need to resort to a restart to clear the problem.
Is there a more proper way to close these frozen windows?
