Yes, that's what FS told me as well. I hate to have to reinstall JAWS 9, but it's looking like I may very well have to. I removed 10, but they did say that core files would be changed, so it's looking like reinstalling 9 will be the only possible option. Yuck! After this experience, I believe I'll be waiting for 11 as well before I try anything new as far as JAWS goes. tracyduffy@xxxxxxxxx (also used as messenger contact) Skype: tracetypegirl The shortest distance between a problem and a solution is the distance between your knees and the floor. I'm in big trouble! Tracy, I think you need to look at the various changes made in JAWS 10 because there were several that affect how it interacts with major applications. It's likely that you need to go into the configuration manager to adjust the way JAWS 10 interacts with MS-Word. Another rather annoying aspect of JAWS 10 is that once installed, it changes several common core components in JAWS so that simply uninstalling JAWS 10 will not revert all familiar functionality back to JAWS 9. I was told this by FS support, so I have to believe it to be true. Once you've taken the plunge to go to JAWS 10, there are so many significant differences in how it works that JAWS 9 will also reflect some of these so-called features -- even after completely removing JAWS 10. I'm not an expert, but I think it may be due to JAWS 10 installing a completely new video intercept into the chain. I was fortunate that I had to completely rebuild to a new computer after struggling with JAWS 10 and decided to do a clean install of JAWS 9 on the machine. I'm in good shape now...and I've not even tried to install JAWS 10 again, in spite of the recent upgrade. Like one member on this list said, I'll wait for JAWS 11 before I consider JAWS 10 to be fixed and bug-free. I know this may not help you, but at least I can commiserate. Once bitten, twice shy. I installed JAWS 10 and ran it as a demo. After that, any document that has been wirtten in word 2007 has a very annoying problem. JAWS is announcing the cursor position before every line, and before every character if I move through a word one at a time. It will speak the measured location, (such as 1 inch from the top and 1 inch from the left) before each line, even in say all mode. I can't figure out if this is a word 2007 problem, or a JAWS problem. I can't seem to change anything in word that has helped. I uninstalled JAWS 10. FS tells me I may have to uninstall then reinstall JAWS 9, and they don't know if that will fix the problem. Anyone have any ideas?
