I don't think this will help, but the adjust JAWS options dialog contains an option to turn flash movies off or on. While on the webpage, press insert-v and arrow down to general, then to flash movies. Perhaps it is turned off. Mine was when I tested the page. _____ From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda Yacks Sent: Thursday, November 11, 2010 11:50 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Help! Hi, I found that too. Someplace on that site, I saw something that said that one needed adobe flash 8, I think, or later to order. I have turned this over to my sighted daughter to order the passes. We will se if she can order them. If she can, We will know it is a "accessibility issue which is my opinion. I have been running into this adobe flash player forms thing lately. I thought I was going to have better luck with web sites with jaws 11. I wasn't so much blaming jaws as much as trying to find out how to get around the problem. Thanks for you help, at least I know it wasn't all me! It looks like this isn't a JAWS problem. I suggest you call, assuming there's a phone number. I tried a variety of methods to click on this item, which is a link even though it calls itself a button. Finally, I pressed the applications key (between the right-hand Windows and control keys) and arrowed down to "open with new tab." It worked, but produced this result on the new tab: Error: Page does not exists or unable to load page We apologize for the inconvenience, but the page you attempted to access does not exist in our system. The page may have been moved, or it could have been mistyped. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda Yacks Sent: Thursday, November 11, 2010 10:02 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Help! Hi, Thank you so much! The link to the page I am finding the ticket info on is: http://elitchgardens.com/tickets.aspx I have trying to click on: btns/tix_buynow which is in the heading for the first season pass ad. I appreciate this. I have had six months of total frustration with computers at home and work and I have migraines. I was really tired and totally frustrated when I wrote the help email. I sure appreciate all of you and sincerely hope I can have the ultimate answer some time to help someone on the list. BTW, it is so frustrating when one's computer is a mess and all the tech can do is blame it on jaws, but I am sure you know that one.. I'm responding to your query about the accessibility of the theme park's website. There's no "order now" button on the homepage. I linked to a tickets page, but again without finding such a button. Here's' that link: http://www.elitchgardens.com/tickets.aspx If you can give us the address for the exact page, it would help. The way to do this is once you are on the page, press alt-d to highlight its address, control-c for copy and then in your email message press control-v for paste. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda Yacks Sent: Thursday, November 11, 2010 12:16 AM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: RE: Help! I see your first question has been addressed. for your second, could you send a link to the theme park's website for listers to try out and post their experiences? (I guess you're looking for a fellow Weight Watchers customer to work with that site.) Regarding a calendar, many people here use Outlook's version. Others have also been recommended, including Yahoo's shared calendar. If you don't use Outlook (I don't mean Outlook Express), try Googling the search terms JAWS and calendar. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---- From: jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx [mailto:jfw-bounce@xxxxxxxxxxxxx] On Behalf Of Linda Yacks Sent: Wednesday, November 10, 2010 6:40 PM To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Subject: Help! Hi to all, I have come back to lurk for a while. Seems like there many folks more qualified to help than I, but I will if I can. Meanwhile, I am having some problems and I sincerely hope someone or someones can help! First, I am running Jaws 11. Today I was working on a Word document and needed to know where on the page I was. I am used to asking for that information by using the jaws key and the delete key. Is that not correct? I kept getting a row and column answer. I looked at the verbosity settings and I don't see where I could change anything that would make a difference. The only setting I found already says inches. Next, I am having a terrible time with two websites that seem to be using adobe flash player to fill out forms. Have I lost my mind? That is entirely possible at this point. One site is our local theme park where I wish to order season passes as Christmas gifts. I click on the "ordernow button" and nothing happens. The other site is weightwatchers.com. I am hoping there is another weightwatchers member who would like to work with me off list who knows how to use the program management tools. They have the "original plan tools", but not everything is available there. Third, and not least, does anyone know of a web based calendar that my office can use. I have looked at google and it seems to be a mess, or I am. We need a place where we can show our appointments where we are able to access them in or out of the office. Most of the staff has appointments outside of the office and the rest of us aren't always sure where they are. We need to be able to update the calendar from in or outside the office as well. I called FS and they recommended I check with the list. Help! Looking forward to reading posts. Thank you.
