I really have to wonder what exactly your issue(s) is/are with Word 2007? I actually just upgraded to it a couple weeks ago, and it really isn't that bad. Granted, it's not as handy to have the ribbon, but frankly, it's not that bad. I don't get what the problem is. and of course you'll get the "Well, the menus are gone, so screw it" attitude, but if I may borrow the words of Dan clark, from the JFW basic training, "It's not an accessibility issue ...". In other words, maybe MS was wrong to essentially do what they did, but we have to move on at some point. could you perhaps explain what your problem is?

It doesn't matter which version of JAWS you are using with Word 2007: none of them work very well with this nightmare of a word processor. There has been such a backlash against Word 2007 from some of Microsoft's biggest corporate customers, that a whole cottage industry of alternative word processors has sprung up on the web. Word 2007 was allegedly redesigned to make it more appealing to academic users at the expense of business users, who make up the vast majority of Microsoft's customer base. But don't count on Microsoft to change Word back to the good old days of manageable menus and logical line spacing. The only thing you can do if you're unhappy with Word 2007 is to use Wordpad, HJ Pad , which is included with JAWS, or download one of the free word processors. As I stated previously, the best of these free word processors is probably Jarte, which is available at: http://www.jarte.com/download.html----- Original Message ----- From: "Caroline" <listmailstuff@xxxxxxx>

Hi. It might be helpful to explain some of the problems that you're having with Word 2007. It's possible that the problems you're having might not be JAWS related, but rather unfamiliarity with the new system. What version of JAWS are you using? Information on your problem would most definitely be helpful. Thanks.

When I bought my Dell Inspiron E1505, it came with Word 07. With that
wonderful, look-friendly ribbon and all that, it was a nightmare. When do
you suppose that Jaws will allow Word 07 to work properly? Do you think
it'll be too late due to another version or OS?
