While in outlook express, Press insert F2 and enter on the configuration manager. From there, press alt s to activate the set options menu. Down arrow to text processing and press enter. A dialog box will come up and near the end of that dialog box is a group of four radio buttons which pertain to announcing whether or not an item is selected. Pick which one you want and tab to the ok button. Save your changes and exit the configuration manager. Hope this is at least a little helpful.
