First thing I can tell you about HP computers is the company does not support using two sound cards. This means you can't have one card for speech and the other for other audio.

I should tell you I am running two sound cards on my HP a1210n. It works now but didn't at first. I still don't know how it started working. It was no thanks to HP support.

Hi list, just a curious question. Does anyone use HP Pavilion A1400E series
computers with JFW? I'm curious as I've been researching computers with an
eye to upgrading from my Win 98 SE machine to one with XP Home. I know FS
has used Dell for testing JFW, but do most HP machines work okay with it, or
is that a brand to steer clear of? Thanks in advance for any info you can
give me on this.
