Which version of GroupWise 6.5 are you running? GroupWise 6.5.1 out of
the box was horrible 6.5.3 is much better it will actually detect if
you
are using a screen reader or magnifier and adapt its layout for the
assistive technology that is present on the machine.

We used JAWS5.1 with GW6.5, but not with the earlier GW version you
mentioned. One thing which might cause JAWS to read the message
automatically, go to JAWS verbosity (Insert+V)) and set to read full
message if it is not checked. Beyond that, it would just involve
comparing GW settings options. I would not have thought that your
version was that different from 6.5.
