Debbie's suggestion of getting rid of the Google Tool Bar is fine, though I keep mine installed because I use its pop-up blocker and don't feel like finding another. But when you get addled by this message, just turn off Forms Mode for a moment by pressing the PC cursor key, then arrow up and down to hear what that edit field is about, then turn on Forms Mode again to type in it. By the way, some online forms are coded in such a way that even though the Google message speaks, some information and the instruction to "edit" is also able to speak. But that's unusual. So just turning off forms Mode is the most effective thing to do without uninstalling the Tool Bar. andn ----- Original Message ----- From: "Debbie Scales" <debbie@xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 9:10 AM Subject: Re: Google Tool bar with forms on the Internet Well it sounds like you have the google toolbar installed. If you aren't using the google toobar, then go to the view menu, tooblars and enter on google toolbar to uncheck it. Otherwise when you are in form fields, jaws is reading the tooltip (google toolbar can fill this in for you. Do you have scripts for it installed to be able to use the google toolbar? If you are going to be filling a lot of forms, you might want to check out the scripts. http://jbauer.port5.com/gtb.htm Debbie ----- Original Message ----- From: "Andrew Diaz Russell" <a.diazrussell@xxxxxxxxx> To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Tuesday, April 18, 2006 11:56 AM Subject: Google Tool bar with forms on the Internet Dear all, I know you spoke about this a few weeks ago but I am also having that problem and I cannot seem to get rid of it. I am applying for jobs over the Internet but the same Google tool bar can fill this for you message is proping up and I cannot tell what I am to type in the form. I am also encountering another problem with such forms. I can either read the form and not type in the form, or I can type but not hear what i am supposed to write on each field. I have Jaws 7 and windows 200 and windows XP home edition but I am encountering this in both machines... Does anybody know how to get rid of that annoying message and what to do with the forms? I know the theory but it only seems to work in some cases, not in others... Cheers for your help.
