Dear Michael,
Well, I never download the "Latest Java Updates" anyway, and I do not plan to,
so yes, can you please tell me how to do the action that will stop these !@#&*
messages from appearing on my computer, when I least need distractions!
Also, they are very hard to get rid of, even if I more or less hit "Close" on
them about half a dozen times!
The only way the thing will get off my screen, not that I can see my screen but
out of my mind, leave me alone, is if I hit "Remind me later"!
And, there is not even a "Number of days" just "Later"!
So later is the next day!

Thanks any help will be appreciated.

With Best Regards,
Alan

  Michael,

Having said that it's not a good idea, but then subsequently announcing that
it can be done, would you elucidate, for the benefit of those who are willing
to take the chance, on just how to turn it off?

  We're positively salivating with anticipation.

  Dave

Hello Bill, or any that can answer this question.
      These Blasted Java Update Messages!

Everything with my computer is find, and I do not want to change one
little thing!

I too get these messages from Java, asking me to "update", often at very
inconvenient times, when I am right in the middle of writing a document or such.

How can I turn off the feature that allows these messages access to my
computer?
I do not want to update any Java!

Any help will be so greatly appreciated!

      I am using XP-Home and Windows 9. with I E 7

I usually update java by Sun systems. It works with Internet Explorer
to display web pages.

          Hi List,

Sometimes when I logon, I get messages asking if I want to update.

Today, I was asked about updating my HP printer software. I went
ahead and agreed to it.

In the past days, I'm prompted about updating Java scripts. What are
Java scripts, and do I need to update them?

          Becky
