interesting, but the f s product has not yet been released,
its possible rfb and d will sell it
and from what your saying one would be better off buying it from rfb and
d if they want to read rfb and d selections.
assuming rfb and d decide to sell the daisy reader from f s.

thanks for the tip.

if rfb does not decide to sell it one has the option of sending it to rfb
and d for a fee in that case.

currently think rfb carries both victor and irti products.

the feature that irti uses to highlight text in a audio could be used to
over come the copy protection i suspect.

thats probably the reason rfb and d is picky, probably due to copy right
protection for publishers.

its also the reason i suspected that feature was disabled in that version
sold by rfb and d.

jerry i assume that the readers sold by rfb and d can read other daisy
files that are not theirs?

if you no this answer let me know.

p s on a second note the high lighting feature in the irti product is
really a limitted functionality audio editor that does audio copying.

so hence it would probably be possible to highlight the whole book an in
the process duplicate the original.

this basicly would be an easy way to copy copy protected books.
the irti product would need a proprietary audio format to prevent this.

still it seems with daisey text formatting one highlighting could be done
in a safe and secure manor using a differant scheme.
the audio represents a differant problem.

to do so one it would seem could use 2 type of book marks,
a beginning book mark and a ending book mark,
and have a jfw script designed to read all info between the to types of
book marks.
such a scheme would not be a problem for publishers because no copying of
the original
is being performed.
