Well, again, I sincerely hope so and will again applaud Freedom for doing
so.

Hello Jeff,

I'm pretty sure that these threats, as you call them, are for the purpose of
inspiring a settlement. Don't you, actually, too? :-)

No, because Freedom has stated their position by filing a lawsuit in public
federal court and their position is very clear.

Now, we haven't seen all of the evidence, but the lawsuit statement is
enough in my opinion for us to ask them to stop this nonsense and focus on
building quality products. I have never publicly stated anywhere that I
feel they are trying to kill Serotek. The fact that this could cost Serotek
hundreds of thousands of dollars (potentially) could kill them. If Freedom
Scientific accepts the name change (if this is the final outcome) and drops
all damages then I will be the first to applaud them for that and since I
own the domain the petition will be yanked immediately. It is the threat of
triple damages, legal fees and much more that I feel is very wrong. See my
site and tell me where I have stated an opinion that I have told people I
feel they are trying to kill Serotek? In fact, on many lists, I have
publicly stated that we should not "assume" anything of what Freedom's
motive is. If it weren't for a computer that is dead at the house I would
reply more. Again, for the record, I in no way have ever stated any of
Freedom's motives in this case, because I don't know what they are. All I
know is they are suing and I wish they would spend precious energy in other
places. It isn't good for the community. What good will come of this for
the overall community?

If you suggest that this not bepursued until we hear Serotek's position on
this, might I suggest that the petition should also be pulled for the very
same reason?

Bruce
