I want to make it clear that if a settlement is reached I for one will
sincerely thank Freedom Scientific for this as frankly, this really is the
best thing for everyone concerned.

Hi Adrian,

The only thing that is public knowledge thus far is the initial complaint,
which would quite likely remain inaccessible to this day were it not for the
work put into conversion and reformatting. In some cases, it is important
to get a grass-roots advocacy effort started early. Sometimes, that happens
before *all* the information we would like to know has become available. I
am quite confident that, no matter what comes out later, a petition to
simply ask FS to stop the action they are taking will remain relevant.

Hi, Karl.

I'm afraid this question is a distraction. FS registered its name as a
trademark effective 2001. If Serotek can show it also registered "Freedom
Box" as a trademark, that would be a defense. It's yet another area where
Darrell and Jeff can provide us with no information. Names are crucial,
hence the importance attached to trademarks. We ought to respect FS's
determination to protect its name. See Yardbird's message earlier this
evening to understand why.

I may be wrong but I seem to remember Freedom Box existing long before FS. I
think it was around during the Henter Joyce days. Anyone else remember this?
