MessageJim,

Are you definitely needing multi-track recording? If so, you will need to
consider a complex program like Audacity or Sonar.
If all you want to do is to record from a microphone or line input then Sound
Recorder will work fine, and it's available with Windows XP.

It's located here:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\sndrec32.exe

  Hello Gym,
Have you tried Easyrecorder? It works well but only saves in WAV format. You
could convert the wav files later though. It's a free program. You could also
try Goldwave which isn't free but works well with jaws.

    Heya folks,

Have already got Audacity but one seems to need to be a rocket scientist to
work it all out and I can't seem to record no sound with the thing. Can anyone
here help with another free recording software for Windows XP that works well
with Jaws 8?

    Cheers,

    Jim
