The authorization code is also written, in print and braille, on the packaging that came with that CD. Part, but not all, of the authorization code appears at fsactivate.com, as well. I was not surprised to find that it was not there since the verification of that 20 digit code takes place online and not through anything in the Windows Registry. It is true that there are software programs that will reveal the product keys to other software that is supposed to be protected from multiple illegal copies of it getting passed around, but these just serve to basically brake the software protection and allow for illegal copies to float through cyberspace. Those programs were written by people who want to find product keys so that they can illegally install copies of software that they do not want to pay for. I'm not in any way defending or criticizing the copy protection of JAWS, or any other software, with the information here (although I do have opinions on this that I'll keep to myself). I am just trying to explain how the 20 digit code is part of the JAWS copy protection scheme that is used by Freedom Scientific to assure that those who have not paid for JAWS do not have easy access to it.
