Finding memory information?

Is there somewhere I can look. on my computer, to find out the speed, of
memory? I want to purchase some, so I will be running at 512 but I need to
know what to purchase.
Thank you. If this doesn't quite relate to jfw, my opologies, people just
seem so helpfull and knowledgeable on this list.
