Hello Tom.

Yes, I was aware of this approach. However, I think you'll find that by
selecting up instead of down, you set MS Word's default search for backwards
rather than forwards, something I didn't wish to do.

Thanks nonetheless.

Jerry

If you open the find dialogue and hit the space bar on "more" then tab
around you will see where it says "all" arrow up and down there and you will
see "up", "down" and "all" choose up and it is searching backward.

Does anyone on this list know the command in MS Word for find backwards? I'm
not talking about control pageUp but a direct keyboard sequence which would
allow me to make a first time string entry to go backwards in the text.

Thanks to anyone who knows how to do this and is willing to share it with me.

  Jerry
