Ed,

I would suspect that it's in how MS-Word is configured, and not a JAWS
problem. Something to do with Child Windows and parent windows, I think.

Dave,
The problem is that I don't remember changing anything. Of course, as a
part of a large organization, we are subject to periodic "updates" and
"patches" that get installed when we log-in to the network. So, it is
possible that our IS department sent out something of which I'm unaware.
If this is something caused by our IT staff, that suggests that the problem
is in Word and not in JAWS.

Ed,

Using Word 2007 and XP and JAWS 11 most recent.

I read the document name and then the "MS-Word". It may be that you have
Word set up to launch each file in a separate window, or set up to launch
all documents in child windows? One of these scenarios might explain the
difference.

However in your specific case I would ask what you might have
updated/changed since two days ago, when it worked correctly?

I'm not really certain whether this is a JFW or a Word 2003 question. Using
JAWS Key plus T, JFW will read the "title" of the document. Until a couple
of days ago, this worked great; however, for the past two days, the JAWS key
plus T command only reads "Microsoft Word." The title of the document is
omitted.
The title of the document is, in fact, not displayed at the top of the
window; however, it does appear right below the tool bars and before the
text of the Word document.
I'm just not certain whether JAWS plus T is supposed to read the top line of
the window or whether it is supposed to pick up both the top line and the
line under the tool bars.
I'm running JAWS 11 and Word 2003 on an XT machine.
