Yes, it can be separately removed. Don't know if it can be separately
installed, unless it's structured that way on the DVD.

I haven't looked lately, but I think it's uninstallable from Control
Panel, and, possibly from the program as well. As for getting a
separate copy, I've never looked, but always understood it's available
on their site, except that someone earlier said that was no longer true.

Well that's stupid as what happens then if FSReader is corrupt? You
can't simply repair FSReader; you would have to uninstall then install
JAWS to put FSReader back on. Or am I missing something here?
