Here I go contributing to the excessive traffic as well however I =
thought it might be helpful to share my observation.

It seems that for the first few months, occasionally longer, certain new =
list subscribers think they are the only people with something to =
contribute. Often they do but rarely are they the only source. =
Nevertheless they seem to feel the need to answer each and every message =
posted to the list. After six or eight months to a year there is often =
an issue like we have seen here which usually results in some hard =
feelings. Those who are really clever or have more than the average to =
contribute stick around in the background offering wonderful gems and =
support at intervals or with specific issues. Others disappear.

Like many of you I follow several lists and the pattern is repeated on =
them all. Worse luck, often it is the same person driving everyone nuts =
on more than one list simultaneously. Overall most people are pretty =
darn tolerant.

It is regrettable that someone had to get hurt yet again. It happens =
three or four times a year though and if it does not these lists fall to =
pieces.

We all, including myself, slip off topic, get drawn down a tangent and =
even sometimes over rate our importance to the blindness community or =
the technological challenges out there. Some of us just don't have =
enough to do. What ever the case, most of us would do well to sit back =
and just see if maybe an unknown name comes forth with a suggestion or =
solution before we jump in on every issue.

I understood at one time that there were over 800 subscribers to this =
list. I bet we can all name only about 10 and they generate well over a =
hundred messages a day. If I am one, I sincerely regret it and I am =
trying hard not to be. If you are one pleas have some consideration.

Thanks.
