Cathy,

I think what you are talking about here is AutoFill - you're not so much
copying the formula as updating it for the cells below. Here's how to do
it, assuming the formula you want is in cell A1 and you want to autofill
cells A2 through to A50 with the formula.

Select cells A1 to A50 (the easiest way to do this is F5 or Control + G,
then type in A1:A50 and hit Enter).

Open the Edit menu and choose the Fill submenu, and from this choose
Series.

This opens a dialog box with a number of controls which allow you to
specify the type of series you wish. For our purposes we want the series
to be based on what is in cell A1 so we select the Autofill option (Tab
to the Type control and select the AutoFill radiobutton, or use the
shortcut Alt + F).

Press Enter to close the dialog box. The series will be completed; use
UpArrow to deselect and then DownArrow to check what has appeared.
Steve

Subject: Excel and Jaws

Hi,

I have another question about Excel and Jaws. When a sighted person is
working in Excel and we have one cell highlighted with a formula in it,
we can go to the bottom right corner, where our cursor changes into a
plus sign, letting us click and drag to copy that formula into other
cells easily.

How do we do that with Jaws, or can we? When the cursor is moved, there
is no way to know when it turns into the plus sign for dragging.

Thanks for the help on this,

Cathy
