Hello Cy,

You msut have a lot of back messages yet to read through. That's been
offered a host of times, but it turns out that may not be what he wants for
the style of message housekeeping he has in mind.

John,
I haven't seen a response to your question so here goes.
Use shift+the delete key to keep it from hitting the deleted items folder.
XP will ask you if you really want to do this so just press enter and the
message will go away.

Ok, stupid question here. if you deleted a message from the inbox, but you
don't want it to go to the deleted items folder, where do you expect it to
go?
If people wanted their e-mail to be sent to data heaven simply by hitting
the delete key, then all the major e-mail programs would've done this
already. sometimes people accidentally delete a message and it's a good
thing that it got sent to the deleted items so you can retrieve it.
I'm not saying the request is unreasonable, but such a keystroke, or a
function does not currently exist. and i bet a vast majority of people
wouldn't like it, not without some kind of confirmation dialogue box popping
up.
