Shift plus delete does it in Outlook Express.

Certainly in Outlook 2000 control+d puts the message in the deleted items
folder as delete would.
I had a feeling it was shift+delete or ctrl+delete, but neither of these seem
to work either.
  Cheers.

    Hello,

Does anyone know the keystroke to delete an email from you inbox and keep
it from being saved in the deleted items folder? I am using Outlook 2002 and XP
Home.

    Take care,

    John
