I talked to fs customer service and asked that same question. I was told
that they will send a file out to update the dongle whenever something
changes about the licensing such as a renewed sma or remote desktop.
I haven't gotten one yet but plan on it.
Apparently this file is some sort of a program which writes to the
hardware dongle to update.

total came to $55 and change. 2 types are available, a usb or a
parallel. now, here is a question about dongles, when the sma runs out,
does the user have to buy another dongle along with the sma? or if th
