John,

Correct, But I wasn't asking about the JAWS version. I was pointing out the way
we all describe the version of products in the MS-Office suite.

Dave, to get the version of the JFW scriptsbeing run, , press insert key plus
letter Q
but then you would assume be the program being run.

Seems as though the JAWS keystroke of Insert+Ctrl+V will announce a numerical
version of Office products that is sequential with their rollouts, and not the
familiar "2003" , "2007", "2010" that are the package names.

I for one will avoid using those numbers 11, 12, and 14 and instead call them
2003, 2007 and 2010 to avoid confusion, and to conform to what most users are
doing.

    Hi,

I am using MS Office 2010 Home and Student Edition. Excel tells me that it
is version 14.0.

    Ted,

Strange, and I got that same result, even though I know I'm using Excel
2007. This is the version that most users are familiar with, and I would be
curious to know from any of our Excel 2010 users what version they get with the
Insert+Ctrl+V keystroke.

That was the version number I got when pressing insert+control+v.

I received a solution to my problem from another list. It is as follows:

      Ted,

It sounds like you have inadvertently changed the font size in your
spreadsheet.

The default font size is 11 point, which results in the exact same
situation that you describe.

You should be able to fix it by selecting your entire spreadsheet,
pressing Control 1 for the format menu, then pressing Control Tab to focus to
the Font Tab of the dialog, then tabbing a couple of times until you reach the
point where you can adjust the font size.

Enlarging the font should allow you to use Page Up and Page down as
before, but you may need to try several font sizes to achieve the results you
want.

      Hope this helps.

Excel 12.0? Not sure what that one is.

In any case, I've never understood how Excel decides how many rows to
jump with the Tab interval. Sometime 10 rows, other times more. I just use the
Ctrl+G to jump to the column/row that I need.

        Subject: Excel question

I am using Windows Vista, Excel 12.0 and Jaws 11.

When I set up my worksheets I use the page down key for quick
navigation to different catagories. Pressing the page down key would move down
the page 20 rows at a time. Starting at cell a1 pressing the page down key 4
times would get me to cell a81.

Now for some reason when I press the page down key it moves down the
page 29 rows at a time. Pressing the page down key 4 times moves me to cell
a117. I noticed this problem sometime after I had been in the format menu,
(control+1), to format the date the way I wanted it displayed. I don't know if
I inadvertenly pressed on something or not. I would like to know what I can do
to get it back to moving down 20 rows at a time when pressing the page down key.

Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks.
