hello there;

on your windows 7 machine,/desktop, you can unmute the sound by doing the
following;

1, windows+r=run,

2, in the run dialog box, type,
sndvol

3, tab one time you will land on,
device main mute button,
just press the spacebar, you should have your sound back.

just alt+f4 to close the sound settings.

  Subject: Desktop muted

   I am using old laptop but after the update apart from the view menu on
laptop going wrong and Bill white helping me get it right My windows 7 desktop
using ms outlook jaws 11 64 bit started crashing suddenly I did not the
following first On loading up to desktop and hearing Jaws say clearly Jaws is
ready a bell would ring,a bit like a door bell, I have not heard it before, in
my ocr for example if I tip a load of tiff files into it, will digest and often
I get a loud dong like a door bell It can be turned off. I have never heard
Jaws however take up bell ringing. the sound has gone completely that is 2
times this desktop has done that.My old desktop that failed last year never
muted, it is not just low sound I have enough sight to see the screen is busy
and the jaws Blue flag is up on left side of screen last time this happened I
went to garden gate and waylaid a passer by,but I do recall some kind person
maybe David whitehead sending in instructions on how to get sound back, I
wonder also if the patches cause this it is second time dell has lost sound and
I do not like the crash,I run all systems which give a clean bill of health at
least the action center does and Ms essentials Dorothy
