Hi Yardbird,In Rich's case, he has a valid version of JAWS 7, but he has installed JAWS 8 and is running the newer version in demo mode. If a JAWS user has checked the option to start JAWS automatically, then the newest version of JAWS will start by default; in Rich's case, that means that JAWS 8 will be the version that will start automatically. Then, at any time after that, he can unload JAWS, which will unload JAWS 8, and then he can load JAWS 7 with his hot key or from the Start Menu as described by Max.
In other words, you don't have to wait for the JAWS 8 demo to run out. Hope this answers your question, Don----- Original Message ----- From: "Yardbird" <yardbird@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

Don,You mean you can only start your personal, valid copy of Jaws from a hotkey after the demo mode on a newer version turns itself off? Is there some kindof safeguard in the demo version that prevents you from starting yourregular Jaws from a desktop icon or from the Start/Programs menu? If so, whydid they fix it this way? To make it really extra inconvenient to use the demo mode, so you'd be discouraged by all the hassle and just go ahead and buy the new version? Thanks. I'm asking because my own copy of Jaws sometimes loads in 40 minutemode when I exit and relaunch it, and I want to be very careful not to damage my own software by doing the wrong thing.----- Original Message ----- From: "Don Moore" <donmoore@xxxxxxxxxxx>To: <jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx> Sent: Friday, June 01, 2007 5:02 PM Subject: Re: Demo Mode Hi Rich,As long as you set a hot key for JAWS, such as Control alt j, you shouldbe able to launch JAWS 7 once the demo for JAWS 8 runs out. What I am wondering, once the 40 minutes are up, can I unload version 8 and go back to version 7 without rebooting my system? thanks for the info.
