the only thing I can think of is you made a message rule that deletes 
messages, check your message rules in the tools menu,  beyond that I don't 
know of any way you can make messages not go to the deleted items folder. 
That's a strange one but I've seen strange behavior from outlook express 
over the years, it's usually some setting that will annoy you until you find 
it.
