I am using XP Home, JAWS 5.0.6?? And Microsoft Outlook.
When in an open message the delete key has absolutely no effect. The
cntrl+D does close and delete the message.
This is an Outlook thing I believe.

The same thing is happening here. If memory serves I've been using the
delete key for several years now when in an open message, although it
seems
to me that this hasn't always been the case in all versions of JAWS. Oh

well I can easily change the key map file so that's maybe what I'll do,
but
if not I could always get accustomed to doing it this way. Like you say
no
large deal.

Subject: Deleting in Open Message OE/JFW 6/XP

Hi All,

On my Windows 98 se machine I'd gotten in the habit of using the
delete key to delete an open message in Outlook Express with JAWS 6.0
and previous versions of JFW. XP Home with SP2 bongs at me when I try
to use the delete key in the same situation and I have to use Control-D.
I thought I remembered reading something about other people having a
similar problem, but I can't find any of the posts I thought I'd saved.

I think I remember hearing when I started using JFW 3.3x that
Control-D was supposed to be the "official" Windows keystroke for
deleting a message when it was open and that HJ came up with the script
for using the delete key instead.

I don't know if this might be an SP2 thing or what. Am I the only
one who's experiencing it or other people being bonged at too?

It's not a big issue, but one more thing I have to do differently
with XP and another issue I have with JAWS and OE.

    Thanks,
Margaret
