Hi Chris these scripts are intended to be an update.
It sounds to me like you may have removed some things included in the jaws
distribution most probably the winamp active x control.
If the winamp active x control is not installed then the scripts you speak
of will not work. Please note none of the scripts you speak of were changed
by me in any way. So my guess would be you may have removed the active x
control.
These scripts were tested with both 5.1 and 7.0 they worked fine with no
problems.

Subject: RE: David the creator of the winamp scripts

hi. As I posted to the Winamp4TheBlind list I run, unfortunately
these updated scripts do not work well at all on my system. In fact,
they seem to have broken some of the other scripts included before,
most notably the speak total time of the currently playing track and
the elapsed time of the currently playing track, as well as a few
other things like speak status of stop before next track. Those were
the only things I found. Since i make great use of these functions
in my broadcasting, I could not very well keep these scripts. So,
luckily for me, I had a previous version of JAWS on my system, which
I went backto and copied the scripts over to 7.0 which is what I use
currently. So folks, if you try these scripts, it would be a very
good idea for anyone trying out these to copy the current ones into a
folder on your hard drive. That way if something bad happens as it
did on my system here, you can go back. I did and the scripts work
again just as they did before. Note that before reverting back to
the other scripts, I recompiled the scripts and closed and restarted
JAWS in hopes that this would do the trick. However, they just did
not work for me, sorry to say.
Just thought I would share my experiences. I hope some of you have
better luck than me!
