Hi Christine, thanks for your help. I actually am doing quite well with this program. In fact, I'm dictating to the program right now. So it's turning out pretty good. I'm probably be more chatty and my messages nowadays. Now that I've got a program I can just talk to, and it'll type for me wrather than having to think on typing and never was good at thinking while typing. So I'm very glad the guy can actually works with jaws or even tips for blind users in the help section for a. Its really good that's not bad considering that I didn't do much training so far. One feature I found in options is that I can get it to be ringing the bell when it recognizes something. The only thing is that when I hear that bell sometimes it stops on to it and LOL. But enough for now, I think that a list for Dragon users of jaws would be nice, but probably wouldn't be too necessary. By the way. I got the program for $150 at TigerDirect in Canada. I use version 9 without jaysay. I cannot access all of the features but it works well enough for me. I keep a list of commonly misrecognized words and have my daughter fix them in dns about once a month. I still use ms word spell checker to make sure everything has come out okay. Just one word of caution, If you don't have a braille display and you are depending on jaws to read the results of your dictation, you may miss things because jaws will read phonetically. For example, if the number four is written in stead of the word f o r. If you want to work out problems together you can email me at c.menges@xxxxxxxxxxx Thanks, Christine ----- Original Message ----- From: Robert Logue To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Thursday, July 02, 2009 1:01 AM Subject: DNS blind users list Is there a mailing list or web site for blind users of Dragon NaturallySpeaking? I just got Preferred version 10. I would like some tips, especially setting up keyboard and anything else to make using the program better with Jaws. Looks tricky choosing keyboard commands for DNS that don't conflict with Jaws. I did do the initial setup and training. Didn't have to much trouble. I chose the longer method of training as it is less strict and seemed like it would be easier to do with Jaws. I haven't actually tried any dictation or voice commands yet as I'm to tired after the training session. The main toolbar is fairly easy to get around but I wonder if I should dock it. There are so many options, it would be nice to get tips on what options will make DNS more Jaws friendly. I hope I can use DNS without having to invest in J-Say. Bob
