I too have experienced this problem many, many times with all of the =
modifier keys at one time or another.
Along with alternately tapping each of the left and right ALT or SHIFT =
or CTRL keys, I have also found the unloading and reloading JAWS =
unfailingly cures the problem. This leads me to conclude that it is a =
JFW problem.

I have also had this. It is especially annoying when you have a hotkey
set up for word using: control plus alt plus w". I use the "right
alt/control key" and it causes word to attempt to load in safe mode.

I've had the same issue on occasion. I don't know if JFW is the
perpetrator, but it has always occurred while JFW is running.
On a few instances, I have successfully taken out my frustration by
alternately banging each control key and the problem goes away. At
other times, I like you, have had to reboot.
I'd be interested to know if the problem is more sidespread and I'll try
to make note of which conditions seem to give rise to this in the

Windows XP Home, JFW 5.0
Occasionally, something happens where suddenly every key I hit is
preceeded by the control key. That is, Jaws says "control tab" every
time I press the tab key. And, its not just the tab key, but it happens
for every and any key I press. Its not just the control key either, but
sometimes its been the control-shift combination or the Alt key or some
other combination of the other meta keys. I usually just restart (if
possible) and that corrects the problem. I assume its happening because
I've hit some wierd key combination by mistake, but I'm not exactly
certain.
Any experience with this problem out there?=09
