So am I making this much harder than it is, haha. Has Jim just forgotten to
hit enter on turn off my computer before he tries to tab to the buttons?
Everybody keeps telling him the letters to press, but I thought Jim had more
of a problem than that. Jim, I hope I'm wrong and your problem has been
solved, smile.

Enter on the turn off button, arrow up or down and you will find the
various options.

Well, when I hit the windows key and arrow up once, it says, " turn off
button. and if I try to arrow down to let's say, restart button, it
doesn't
say anything. in other words, it isn't saying the usual, stand by
button,
turn off button, and restart button. I can't arrow to these choices. So
is
it a setting in my display? i have things set to the recommended
settings.

Well if it is not giving you the choices then what does it do? Just
restart
or shut down, or does it just go to the desktop or what does it do
exactly?

Kathy, I am having trouble shutting down my computer.
I hit windows key and up arrow and it says turn off computer button.
But
then it is not giving me choices to stand by, turn off, restart, or
hibernate. It used too, but suddenly it's not. Don't know how to make
it
normal again.

Jim, I'm probably being too simple here, but the shut down on the
start
menu
has choices of turn off = u or restart = r.
escape + control
up arrow to bottom, click shut down
press r
computer will reboot- although you need to have all programs except
jaws
closed

I know there is a command to shut down your computer, but is there one to restart the computer? Thanks for your help. I am running XP Pro and Jaws 7. Jim
