If you still want all of the messages in one conversation to stay together but you want to be able to delete message by message within a thread, leave grouped by conversation checked and just hit right arrow on the first message of the thread. When you first land on it it will say collapsed but after hitting right arrow it will say expanded, and that's when you can delete single messages in a conversation. Hth. Arrow to group messages by conversation and uncheck by hitting enter. ----- Original Message ----- From: Jim Portillo To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx Sent: Monday, November 14, 2005 2:38 PM Subject: Collapsed threads and messages Hi there, I'm not sure how this happened, but I'm not sure how to turn it off. I've been tinkering with this but get nowhere. I'm using Outlook Express, and as of lately, when I try and delete messages, I get the following message: "Messages in the collapsed conversations will be deleted" and then asks if I'm sure I want to continue. What's also interested is that messages I know I've read but haven't deleted are coming up as "Unread." Any ideas? First the internet and now this. Gee. Jim
