One useful thing, and about the only things I can think of, are adding mouse
support as in other screen readers, and bringing the price right down. Why
should we have to pay for a pair of eyes? Apple all the way, I say.

Very good point. What can Freedom scientific do for us instead of doing it
ourselves. I like the analogy of a hungry man. Google Docs does seem like a
priority and a need. It makes a good point about the needs and wants of
accessibility. Depending on what we target, is going to dictate how long it
would take that FS would not do for us. Perhaps the smaller things we can
persuade freedom scientific to do. I have the email of someone at FS that we
could all email about such accessibility concerns. Perhaps we can ask him what
their plans for jaws they have. If we grouped together, we could make a
difference in what direction they choose.

Aside from the website v. application discussion, John Martin's offer raises
two other general questions in my mind.
First, from the initial responses, one broad question is which of three
categories JAWS users would assign the greatest importance: an application (or
website) that promotes employment, one that opens up social interaction or one
that provides pure entertainment. All three areas are critical for a good life.
But as philosophers point out, a hungry man doesn't worry about free speech.
I'd think that making ribbon-driven MS Access or Google docs is a priority.
Second, why should this burden fall on one generous man? Maybe one result of
this discussion could be establishing a list of priorities that we all submit
to FS to try to persuade them to fix problems that constantly surface on this
list.

Thanks for mentioning it Bill! How about google chrome. I love that browser,
but I cannot use it with jaws only with N***. So it will be nice tho have that
option. Also, how about opera if google is not an option. That would be great.

Peter, here's my thinking and I hope others will correct me if I'm wrong.
A website is not an application.
the applications involved would be your browser--i.e. or firefox, or chrome.
For that matter, google docs would not be an application either.

Hi, for many blind people dating is quite difficult and many dating websites
don’t seem too accessible, and I have seen a few posts from people trying to
get various websites working. I’d be very grateful if the website
www.plentyoffish.com was made accessible in some way. It is pretty accessible
at the mom ent so shouldn’t require too much work, but there are a
lot of extra links and information you have to try and bypass to get to the
useful stuff.
I may be the only one who wants that website accessible, but I hope not and I
think lots would benefit from a fully accessible dating site where it’s not
just disabled people.

Hi folks,
As my 32nd birthday approaches, I think I am going to make a habit of picking
one new application per year to make jaws accessible. Picking Rhapsody was not
an easy task, but it taught me many things about an application that seems next
to impossible to make behave. I am taking off this summer from school and will
have the time to code a new application. Rhapsody Blind was a test to see if I
could pull it off, and it worked. I selfishly chose the first one, now I'm
looking for the popular vote on what you might want. I probably won't start
until this semester is over at the end of May, so this gives plenty of time to
decide. It would be a good idea to chat among each other and find out what is
needed or just plain want for entertainment purposes. So, let's open up the
floor and hear some suggestions.
