DVD Decrypter is free and works for the older dvd's. DVD shrink which analyzes the ripped content is also free. For newer DVD's I use AnyDVD, but only the ripper portion because the program is basically inaccessible. With the ripper I just have two buttons to find with the jaws cursor. DVD Decrypter works great for ripping only the movie, IFO files or whole disc. I use IMG Burn also free to burn the images I make with dvd shrink. I basically take out all the menus and extra audio streams. I was also able to with dvd shrink to shrink entire seasons of southpark fitting one disc. I just need to skip chapters now. Compressing an entire season on one disc is great because you can totally convert it down to still images since I can't see it anyway. DVD shrink is basically a trick to use with the jaws cursor and the PC cursor. I just got used to it so much I didn't need a script, but now that I think of it. ----- Original Message ----- From: "The Elf" <inthaneelf@xxxxxxxxxxxxxx>

I have only one ripper, winX platinum noted in my "useful programs" folder for DVD ripping and such, are there any other good ones out there? we have a lot of DVD's here that I would like to start backing up since I just added another TByte drive to our networks capabilities.

hmmm, i use dvdfab and have created some scripts for my own personal use and have used them for a while and work very nicely for me.

One thing that comes to mind is that perhaps not a lot of people will be that into DVD ripping software. I use a flurry of apps to accomplish this and I am not sure of the interest level of others. I suppose that we will have to hear from others about this.

Hmmm... I would like to see scripts (free scripts if possible) for iTunes. I downloaded the jTunes scripts (version 5.5) and I did not like them at all. They did not added much to the party and there are some parts of iTunes that since version 10.2.1 have become completely inaccessible. E.G. the iTunes store.

Other program I would love to see a script being developed is for DVD fab platnum.

I am thinking of a couple, but I doubt there will be any interest among blind persons, so I won't mention them. At least for now.

Subject: Coding for a new jaws accessible app

Hi folks,
As my 32nd birthday approaches, I think I am going to make a habit of picking one new application per year to make jaws accessible. Picking Rhapsody was not an easy task, but it taught me many things about an application that seems next to impossible to make behave. I am taking off this summer from school and will have the time to code a new application. Rhapsody Blind was a test to see if I could pull it off, and it worked. I selfishly chose the first one, now I'm looking for the popular vote on what you might want. I probably won't start until this semester is over at the end of May, so this gives plenty of time to decide. It would be a good idea to chat among each other and find out what is needed or just plain want for entertainment purposes. So, let's open up the floor and hear some suggestions.
Thanks,
John Martyn
