The Insert plus A key works in Outlook 2002 (not Express) sometimes.
Again, as Dave said, sometimes.

Dave,

I have to dissagree with you on this one.
I'm definitely using Outlook 2003. Often when using insert + A to open
the attachments list JAWS will prompt me with a message saying it was
unable to find the list and would you like Jaws to try again. I hit
enter on yes and then it is successful. I do recall having to open
attachments as you describe with versions of JAWS 5.0 prior to the 844
release.

That's true in Outlook Express, but not in MS Outlook. In Outlook (not
Express), you can sometimes open the message, find the attachment with
the Jaws cursor and double-click on it with the Jaws left click key
(slash key on the numpad) to sometimes open the file without having to
go through the process of saving it out somewhere, reading it and then
deleting it.

Its problematic, though, in that the operative word is "sometimes."
Sometimes even a sighted person using a mouse can't open an Outlook 2000
attachment without first saving it out.

Anyone have any further pearls of wisdom on this issue?

Take care...

The JAWS key + the letter A should bring up the attachments list which
you can then arrow up and down thru to select the attachment you wish to
open and then hit enter. You shouldn't have to save an attachment just
to look at it. Try this and see how you make out.

Please anyone! I have attachments but I can't open them.
When I open the email there's nothing to let me open the
attachments. When I go to file, I only see save attachments When I press
enter it only gives me the option of saving the attachment. Please
someone, tell me how to open attachments in outlook. Thanks aheap
Carliss
