I'm wondering if this is an issue where somehow JAWS is recognizing
the a as the quick access key for anchors. When she hits a, does
JAWS say anything at all even if the key is not displayed? Does it
matter if Word is set up as the editor for e-mail messages? If the
only problem is that for some unfathomable reason you can't type an a
in outlook but can everywhere else, I'd be more inclined to just
compose messages elsewhere and paste them into the Outlook window.

Hi All:
I'm wondering if anyone has any idea how to solve an unusual problem. One of my colleagues is using JAWS. When JAWS is running when she's using Microsoft Outlook, she can't type the small letter "a". She types it and it doesn't show up on the screen. When JAWS is unloaded, the "a" key works just fine.
We're up to date with virus protection, so we don't think that's the problem. She tried having JAWS repaired and that didn't fix the problem. This appears to be a problem where JAWS won't let the letter "a" pass through to the application.
Any suggestions? I think we probably are going to have to re-install JAWS, but I'd like to know if you have other ideas before we do that.
Thanks,
