This has happened to me, in fact, the other day I was unable to open a
single Word document in Word 2000. I went ahead and allowed my computer to
send an error report to Microsoft, and it directed me to a web page
suggesting that I needed to update my Office 2000. I did, and it solved the
problem 100%. You will need to have your office installation disc with you
to do this, though. Hope this helps.

Subject: Can JAWS damage Word files?

Hi all,
I have a problem on my work PC which occurs frequently. While I'm in a word
document, sometimes the PC crashes and when I restart the computer the file
is damaged. A bunch of temporary files are generated - from which the guys
at tech support are able to restore my original document (but I can't ask
them everytime!). Nobody has a clue as to why. They even re-installed Office
but the problem persists. I find it happens more frequently when I work with
tables.

Is it possible that a conflict with JAWS is causing this? Just exploring all
possibilities, trying to find a solution!!

Thanks so much in advance

Fran
