first of all jfw actually had scripts for one versin of cake walk, long ago.

secondly cake walk is much more than an editor.

its designed to let one create their own music.

by the way cake walk is no longer the product of choice here, its
replacement is sonar and the dancing dots sonar talking scripts for it.

multi tracking yes.

software music synths are supported in sonar.

think their is even a acid type program included with sonar.

not sure how it compares to acid.

acid is designed to create loops.

also sonar and cake walk correspond more with sonic foundry vegas, but they
include some thing vegas does not, midi support.

you can use a editor program in conjunction with cake walk or sonar.

like sound forge.

your looking at about 600 dollars to buy sonar and the scripts.

though it is possible to use sonar with out them, its more speech friendly
than cake walk was.
