So there are not actual drivers on the CD that are needed? Thanks, Eileen La Fond Phone (206) 386-0011 e.mail Eileen.LaFond@xxxxxxxxxxx >>> toonhead5@xxxxxxxxxxx 02/16/05 11:28AM >>> Hi Eileen This cd that they want you to install is basically just for those who are sighted and want a little eye candy. There is a slightly modified version of Internet explorer with buttons to specific locations such as top news headlines, weather, sports, stock tips, etc, etc, etc... and it also contains a copy of real player which you probably already have and if you don't it's already free. If you're going to be going with comcast and your technition arrives, simply ask him to hook up your cable modem to your computer and make sure he can establish a connection. He may need to register your cable modem with the call center and check that you are getting a fast connection, which he can do. In other words don't believe them when they say that this CD is absolutely necessary, because it isn't. Your technition will look at your computer, your operating system and will take any necessary steps to make sure you get online. You will not need to make any changes to JAWS at all, JAWS does not even factor into this. The comcast.net website isa bit strange in some areas, but a call to customer service will hopefully yield some good results if you have a problem or need to set up extra e-mail addresses and things like that.
