HI Joseph,

Thank you for your response. I'll check out the resources you've mentioned. In just a few hours, a dimly held dream has started to look like it could become a reality.

Hi,
I would say that it is doable. There are programs that allow you to compile
your C++ code that are accessible with JAWS.
Personally, as a computer science student, I find that learning with books
and examples would be the best idea. My personal recommendation is C++: A
Dialogue by Steve Heler. As for programming tools, you can use notepad to
create your code, then a text-based compiler such as Borland can be used
(effectively with JAWS). I am still learning C++ myself, so I don't know too
much about the language. However, there is a list called Blind Programming
where you can ask questions of this kind and hopefully meet blind
programmers out there who can assist you better.
Hope this helps.
Cheers,
Joseph

Hi Listers,

I've become very interested in learning C++ programming and am investigating

the possibility of logging time in an online school or even a local
community college. I was wondering if there are others here who learned C
programming and how doable it is as a blind person. My philosophy has
always been that everything, or nearly everything, is doable as a blind
person but I'd like to hear from programming veterans, if such there are.
