Mike, That Scroll Lock would definitely be a problem. You use the KVM switch to use the same keyboard, or the same monitor with two computers? IF the keyboard, I'd personally elect to just have two keyboards and eliminate the switch. The arrow keys don't move at all but, I think the problem has been found. It was suggested to me by Kurtis Potter, to check the state of the scroll lock key. The 1 thing I didn't mention in my original post is that I use the scroll lock key to switch between 2 computers, via a KVM switch. Well, since I press the scroll lock button twice quickly to go back & forth between the 2 computers, I can't hear the state of the scroll lock key. If I am having an Excel keystroke issue & I switch over to the other computer & switch back, the keystrokes start working again! Iguess I'll have to assign a different keystroke for using the KVM switch. This may not be the only thing that causes the arrow keys not to move so, if you have a different idea / reason for my problem, please share. All help / ideas are gratefully accepted. Thanks again, take care. How do they not work? Are they actually not moving from cell-to-cell, or are you not hearing anything? Here is my problem. When I open a, .XLS file, my arrow keys don't work most of the time. I thought that checking the box in the configuration manager for showing the virtual viewer on screen , might have fixed the problem. Although, I don't have the slightest idea what checking that box could have done! If I reboot the computer and open an, .XLS file, then the arrow keys will work. I am running XP Home, Office 2002 Home, & Jaws10 thru 12 latest. Would someone please tell me what could be possibly wrong to make these arrow keys not work correctly & consistently? I am using all the default settings, except for that virtual viewer thing. All help will be desperately appreciated / accepted. This arrow thing is driving me up a freaking wall & Doctor Phil under his couch! Thanks much. Take care. Mike
