Re: Audible Verification code for Pay Pal account

Interesting.

There are two anchor links on that form after the "Enter the characters" text field. The second link contains the link text "Need help" and it opens the "n i c e t r y" recording. But the first link contains an image of a speaker with no alternative text but a title attribute of "Listen". If you follow that first link, a different recording is opened that matches the CAPTCHA image, e.g. "T T G 5 T" with clicking and a bit of static between the letters and numbers.

Something seems to be broken with the Need help link. But if you make sure you're not in forms mode you should be able to tab to the first link and use that instead.

Hi Everett,

I tried your suggestion, but no luck. When I click on the link to listen to
the verification code I hear "n I c e t r y" and typing that into the edit
field results in an error on the page. I type it without spaces as
instructed. Any other ideas?

Thanks,

Russell

Russell,

I've spoken to PayPal support about this isue and they are aware that it is
occurring. They told me the fix is to sign up for a "Premium" account (2nd
on the list). It doesn't cost money if you are only purchasing.

Subject: Audible Verification code for Pay Pal account

Hi,

I just checked out the Jonathon Mosen tutorial for Skype and wanted to
purchase it. My Pay Pal account has expired and I wished to open a new
account. Of course there is a place where it askes you to type the letters
as shown below. They have a link to listen to an audio of the verification.
To me it sounds like the audio says "nice try" as it is quite easy to
understand, however when I type in nicetry I am told that I missed the
verification code. I've tried upper case for every second letter, all upper
case, all lower case to no avail. Does anyone have any idea what mnight be
going on here? I recently ran into another website that had a verification
code and the audio was the same, "nice try" without the space between the
nice and try of course.

Any thoughts greatly appreciated!

Russell
