true micro soft is guilty of every sin you pointed out with respect to
windows and their included applications in the o s.
not fixing bugs and ignoring their end users.

so your totally right compairing jfw to m s operating system.

unfortunately microsoft is one software company that was never known for
quality first.

its also true that windows is a monopoly and they really did not care what
the end user wanted either.

because it is a monopoly they where able to get away with it.

but guess what, when corporations started picking linux for server software
over m s products then m s changed its tune.

what do you think windows update is all about, fixing bugs, some thing that
m s used to totally ignore, especially ignored by m s in the security areana.

but when companies starting saying to m s stick it where using linux then m
s started changing its tune with respect to security.

hence service pack 2.

now their starting to do better but have a long way to go.

i had to laugh though because you picked probably the only software company
as bad as f s at ignoring their end users.

probably for the same reasons, pretty much j f w market share that almost
classifies them as a monopoly.

by the way when it comes to other micro soft applications where they do not
enjoy the market advantage they do a much better job with respect to quality.

office and money are to examples.

i e was also an example before it got the lion share of the market.

bottom line, and i can not speak for all, but for me if 7 adds no new
features and fixes only bugs that would be o k with me.
