I will check the configuration for her; I don't think that the computer is
an issue; it's a 2.6 GHz machine w/512MB ram running XP Home.

Thanks.

Hello Ken and others,

While I find MS Word (2003) to be a bit sluggish when navigating at the
character and word levels, JFW (5084 with XP PRO) performs very well for me
in English as well as other languages. Knowing nothing about your wife's
computer and operating system, I can only speculate that some of the
problems may be related to memory, disc space or, as pointed out by another
user, parameters that need be reset either in Jaws or possibly within Word
itself.

I have not used Outlook with Office 2003.

Good luck.

Jerry
