Hi, I'm using Norton 2003 on a Pentium III 866mhz machine running Windows ME, a 1.0ghz Dell laptop running XP Home, and several 2.6ghz Dell desktops. It works great. The only question that I have about it concerns e-mail protection. On my home machine, the Pentium III, I apparently received some sort of virus back in December and would like to know how to track where it came from, as I never saw the infected message. I was just informed that something had been intercepted and had to check the logs later to see what happened. Any ideas? This is for two reasons. If you don't have an extremely fast computer, you'll find that Norton greatly uses up your speed and system resources. Also, when Norton finds a virus, it pauses all of your applications until you decide what to do, meaning you can't use JAWS to find out what's going on. > > I didn't know AVG may be charging for their anti-virus software soon, but in the meantime I use it and it's extremely fast and reliable in my opinion. > > > > Grant > > ----- Original Message ----- > > From: westmoors > > To: jfw@xxxxxxxxxxxxx > > Sent: Friday, January 30, 2004 1:44 PM > > Subject: Anti Virus Software... > > > > > > Hi, it's me again, I'm afraid! > > > > Sorted the issue of Firewalls, thanks everyone. > > > > Now, Anti-Virus... > > > > I have been using AVG's free version but that's well out of date, although > > I've kept the virus definitions up to date. > > > > I'm looking for suggestions as I've heard that AVG will soon be charging for > > the service. > > > > I've got no problem about paying for a decent product but didn't see the > > need to pay for what was available for free up to now! > > > > Anyone got any suggestions for good Anti-Virus?
